Weber Olcese is pleased to announce it obtained a no-cause, fraud verdict in Wayne County on behalf of an insurance client. The case involved a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) company seeking over $60,000 for transportation services in provided to the insured.
The defense focused on the overcharging of mileage between the claimantโs residence and her medical providers, as well as the lack of evidence demonstrating the medical appointments even occurred on the dates transportation allegedly occurred.
After just 15 minutes, the jury returned a No-Cause verdict, finding the transportation company committed fraud. Notably, the determination was unanimous.
